Have Your Say: Help Shape the Future of Transport in the East Midlands

Now is the time to have your say on the future of public transport where you live.

The Mayor of the East Midlands, Claire Ward has launched the region’s biggest transport conversation in decades, and you can have your say.

Over 12 weeks, residents, businesses, and community groups are being invited to help shape a 15-year plan for cleaner, fairer, and better-connected transport across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.

Every day, transport affects your work, school, healthcare, and family life. From traffic jams to unreliable buses, the challenges are real, and this is your chance to influence solutions that make a difference.

Key priorities the Mayor wants your thoughts on:

  • Tackling congestion – Where are the worst traffic pinch points in your area?
  • Giving young people independence – How can we make travel safe and affordable for students?
  • Connecting communities – What improvements would help link towns, cities, and workplaces?
  • Reliable public transport – Where do buses and trains need to be more dependable?
  • Better roads – Which areas need urgent maintenance?
  • Safe and clean bus stops – What would make stops more accessible and welcoming?

The Mayor’s Big Transport Conversation runs from 17 November 2025 to 8 February 2026. Your input will help shape a transport network that works for everyone, supports local businesses, and keeps our communities connected.
