Family Hub Derby logoWe want to hear from you about your experiences and to be part of shaping Family Hubs in Derby city.

Derby has been chosen as one of 75 areas to receive Government funding to launch Family Hubs. The city will receive £3.8 million until March 2025 as part of the Family Hubs Start for Life programme.

The initiative will see six of the city’s existing Children’s Centres transformed into Family Hubs, allowing families to access a range of support services under one roof.

What are Family Hubs?

Family Hubs bring together different organisations in a ‘one stop shop’ to make it easier to get the help you and your family need, so you only have to explain what you need help with once, rather than having to tell many different people.

It also makes it easier for us to work together to help you access information and links to a range of family focused support.

Derby’s Family Hub are here to help you find the right support at the right time for you and your family. We offer a range of activities, sessions, advice and support for families and young people aged from 0-19 years and up to 25 for young people with Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND)

Derby’s vision is for the Family Hub to operate as a network of services which work together to provide high quality, whole family, joined up support, ensuring that children, young people and families get the right help at the right time. At the heart of Family Hubs are services that give babies a great start for life, helping parents build strong relationships with their babies by providing parenting classes, midwifery, health visiting, infant feeding advice and perinatal mental health support,

Other areas of help may include support with mental health, safe spaces for young people, housing and debt advice and other family-related issues.

The six Family Hubs will be launched in July and August, welcoming families throughout the school summer holidays to find out more about what’s on offer.

The hubs will be located in:

  • Mackworth
  • Derwent
  • Osmanston/Allenton
  • Sinfin
  • Rosehill
  • Becket

As this is a new offer for the city, we would to hear your feedback on how current services have supported you and your family, and how the hubs could better support you in the future. You could be in with a chance to win one of two £30 Love2Shop vouchers (Terms and Conditions apply).

This survey is now closed. For more information or to access this survey in another format please contact fis@derby.gov.uk or telephone 01332 640758.
