How the consultation will work

Derby City Council are consulting on a proposal which may change the way we currently provide discretionary home to school or college travel assistance for eligible sixth form students. Sixth formers are those defined as all 16-19 year old learners including 19-25 year old learners with an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) who started the course before their 19th birthday (sixth form learners).

No decisions about this proposal have been made. We are committed to a wide consultation on this proposal before the Council makes any decision. Your feedback is very important to us and will be used to inform decisions about the proposal.

Please take time to read through the consultation document as this provides details on the proposal, the reasons for it, and how the decision-making process works. Please let us know your views and comments by Monday 12 December 2022 using the online survey provided.

If your young person would like to feedback, we have a easy read version of the questionnaire. This is in PDF form and allows them to complete electronically and email the completed form or you can print, complete and then return free post. Alternatively email letstalkderby@derby.gov.uk with your name and address and we will send a printed version through in post.
