Pleasure Boat & Boatperson Policy Review Consultation

Following adoption of Section 94 of the Public Health Acts Amendment Act 1907, which gave the Council powers to issue the relevant permissions in relation to Boat & Boatperson Licensing, a working policy was introduced in April 2021 to guide applicants, members and anyone involved in the area through the requirements of Derby City Council when making new applications and/or applying for the renewal of an existing permission.

In order to determine its effectiveness in achieving its purpose of public safety and consider whether the necessary checks and balances are in place [necessary and proportionate], the Policy is being reviewed and a public consultation is being undertaken. The consultation is open for 12 weeks and will close on Wednesday 27 September 2023.
