Derby City Council have been awarded £25K of funding from the environmental charity Hubbub and The Coca-Cola Foundations. The In The Loop grant fund has enabled us to roll out public recycling points and boost out-of-home recycling in new areas.

The funding has seen 30 bins installed across four areas of the City including:

  • River GardensPicture of a recycle on the go bin
  • Cathedral Green
  • Darley Park
  • Markeaton Park

The trial aims to reduce litter, increase recycling, and involves installation of bright, colourful and eye-catching bins, targeted messaging and local partnerships to encourage positive behaviour change. The trial also aims to reduce the level of rubbish reaching destinations downstream of the waterways where the trials are taking place.

An initial survey to understand your views took place earlier this year. Now the bins are installed, we would love to hear your views again. The survey will take around 5-10 minutes to complete. The survey and competition is open for 4 weeks and closes at 5pm on 6th September 2023.

If you complete the survey you can also opt to be entered into a prize draw to win either a £50, £100 or the jackpot £150 gift card to spend at independent retailers in Cathedral Quarter or St Peters Quarter (terms and conditions apply).
