Review of Cumulative Impact Policy 2022
Derby City Council has a Cumulative Impact Policy which relates to licencing applications in a defined area. This policy determines how we manage licensing applications to make sure we are encouraging business, but not causing other problems or issues.
Cumulative Impact formed part of the Licensing Policy which was last reviewed in 2020 under the requirements of the Licensing Act 2003. The Statement of Licensing Policy is reviewable every 5 years.
New legislation introduced a 3 year renewal period on Cumulative Impact policies which means the Cumulative Impact Policy included in the Licensing Policy is now due for renewal (after 3 years). It has now been drafted into a separate document called the Cumulative Impact Assessment (APPENDIX 4 - Draft CIA).
The Police have requested retention of the existing zone but to ensure full and open consideration, it must first go through a period of public and stakeholder consultation (APPENDIX 1 - Police).
The results from the consultation will be presented to the Licensing Committee.
