We are asking your views on the proposed term dates for 2025-2030 for Derby city. You can take part by taking the survey below.
School terms and holiday dates are set by the council each year in consultation with parents, headteachers, governing bodies, neighbouring LAs, professional associations, Diocesan Boards of Education, FE Colleges, HE Universities, Trade Unions and any other interested stakeholder.
Councils need to set the school term dates for maintained schools, they must be open to pupils for 190 days in an academic year and 195 days for teachers.
Foundation, trust, voluntary aided schools and academies are responsible for setting their own holiday dates and so individual schools, which are not maintained by the local authority may choose to follow a pattern and/or specific dates that do not match those set by by Derby City Council.
When setting proposed dates we have, where possible, tried to take account of dates/patterns already set by our local authority neighbours.

We are asking your views on the proposed term dates for 2025-2030. We are proposing two options for each year.
The first option is to mirror Derbyshire County Council proposed term dates for 2025-2030 (Please note these are subject to change as Derbyshire County Council is awaiting cabinet approval).
The second options offer slightly different dates to those being proposed by Derbyshire County Council
