Homes and buildings play a role in helping to reduce the impact of the climate change. Buildingsshould be designed to reduce their demand for energy and to use energy efficiently.
Buildings are the UK’s second largest source of emissions (after surface transport). There has been no sustained reduction in emissions from buildings in the last decade, reflecting low levels of annual home energy efficiency improvements.
Derby is a compact city of 30 square miles with around 111,227 homes. 11.4% of homes in the city are owned by the local authority, 7.4% by private registered landlords and the majority (81.1%) are privately owned.
Housing accounts for 28.83% of carbon emissions in Derby. Making homes more energy efficient reduces these emissions and helps to lower energy bills.
We want to understand what Derby residents know about making their home more energy efficient. By completing this quick survey, it will help us understand what information and support residents may need to help improve their homes.
