Making simple changes to our day to day lives, like using less energy, driving less and recycling more, can make a big difference. There are lots of things people can do as an individual, without overwhelming changes to our lifestyle.     This winter Darley Abbey Community Energy (DACE) offered a household Thermal Imagining Survey, with the support of Derby City Council.

    The idea was to focus on measures that people can take to use energy more efficiently at home, reducing carbon footprint and fuel bills. Each survey took about 40 minutes and homeowners were encouraged to share areas of concern about the fabric of their building - cold bay windows, poorly insulated ceilings, flat roofs, cold bridges and gaps around doorways, absent lagging, damp cold spots caused by leaking gutters etc. Residents could clearly see warm air escape routes via the...
