Thermal Imaging Survey - Darley Abbey Community Energy

This winter Darley Abbey Community Energy (DACE) offered a household Thermal Imagining Survey, with the support of Derby City Council.

The idea was to focus on measures that people can take to use energy more efficiently at home, reducing carbon footprint and fuel bills. Each survey took about 40 minutes and homeowners were encouraged to share areas of concern about the fabric of their building - cold bay windows, poorly insulated ceilings, flat roofs, cold bridges and gaps around doorways, absent lagging, damp cold spots caused by leaking gutters etc. Residents could clearly see warm air escape routes via the red-blue rainbow images produced.
